I know you might be wondering why I opened with “welcome back” instead of a simple “welcome”… truth be told, this is the third launch of our blog. Life just keeps happening and odds are it’ll happen again, so I’ve decided to roll with it and build the blog truly into my life.
My name’s Ona, and I’m the “brunette” behind the blog, living life alongside my (now) three incredible dogs; a Labrador Retriever, a Great Dane, and a German Shepherd/Husky/Malinois mix. Originally, we were accompanied by my old man Sheltie as well, making us 4 dogs and a brunette. It felt odd to rebrand with a new name, almost like we were forgetting his memory.
This blog is all about the beautiful, messy blend of my life: chaos with my dogs and the adventures of family life. From hiking trails and road trips to everyday moments that make my life so special, I’ll be sharing stories, tips, and a bit of humor along the way.

Why 4 Dogs & A Brunette?
This blog started as a way to combine my passions and connect with others who share them. I mentioned that life kept happening so the blog took a back burner. We lost one of the key pieces of the blog about a year ago, that put a big damper on things. The joys, and chaos, of parenting made time for myself seem to disappear. The blog is still a passion project for me, and one I want to keep creating. So here we are, re-relaunching 4 Dogs & A Brunette.
Life with dogs is a journey filled with love, lessons, and laughs, and I, for one, want to celebrate that. Whether you’re here for practical advice, inspiration, or just a good laugh, my goal is to create a place where dog lovers and adventurers feel at home.
